Ready to Launch
I'm excited!!!
This week sees the re-launch of FuturePD. It has been ticking over for a couple of years now as I have been working on a couple of longer term school projects. But they are almost finished and it is time to start working hard on the Professional Learning workshops again. I must admit that I find it strange that there is no-one in Western Australia and only a few people elsewhere in Australia (Adrian, Bryn, John et al) who are offerring PD opportunites for teachers looking to use ICT to enhance learning. It's also great to see some of the organisations stepping up their efforts, particularly EDNA, who have always been spectacular in their efforts. I know from my forum lurking that there are lots of bright people doing very clever things and sharing their successes on echalk, oz-teachers and the like. But I hope to deliver some targeted PD, using the best of the Web 2.0 tools to those teachers who are struggling to keep up with the latest developments and technologies in educations contexts.
I'm also excited at the prospect of rejoining the extended communities of practice that exist globally, having recently spoken at conferences alongside people like Will Richardsonand Stephen Downes.
I can't wait :o)
